The HCA Healthcare Hope Fund recognizes that colleagues may have needs beyond the assistance we are able to provide. To help connect colleagues with additional support, regardless of their eligibility for or previous assistance from the Hope Fund, we have compiled the information below. These options include programs offered through HCA Healthcare and community-based organizations. These programs and services are separate from the Hope Fund, and any assistance provided is determined by the individual organizations.

FindHelp is a free online tool that connects individuals with local programs offering housing, food, transportation, financial assistance, healthcare services, and other community support. Visit https://www.findhelp.org/ to explore available options in your area.

Life brings a wide range of challenges, both expected and unexpected. Whether you’re navigating a difficult situation, managing your mental health, coping with a personal loss, or simply feeling overwhelmed, support is available to help you move forward.

Through the HCA Healthcare Healthy Living Program, you have access to tools, resources, and guidance designed to support your mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. You don’t have to navigate things on your own.

Below are the top-rated charities that may be able to help with paying for specific medical conditions and expenses. Contact the charity that may apply to your condition. For example, if you have arthritis needs, contact the “Arthritis Foundation.”

Life & family support

Bright Horizons

Need family support for school-age children as well as your little ones? Bright Horizons is here to help, with enhanced services!

Exclusive Access to Childcare Centers: If you are looking for full-time childcare, this center locator will help you find centers that are convenient for your family. Many centers are offering full-day school-age care to coincide with the local school systems. If you find a Bright Horizons center that meets your need, these centers will offer a registration credit and priority enrollment. Once you have found a center that meets your need, simply reach out to the center director.

Virtual Homework Help: Through virtual sitting (available today via Sittercity), a sitter can:

Help with schoolwork
Play games to keep students occupied
Guide students through engaging activities

Tutoring: If you have children who may need some extra help with school work, Bright Study is your go-to resource. Accessed through Bright Horizons, Bright Study provides online and in-person tutoring options and even personalized educational/academic plans to help you and your child stay on track. Tutoring is available for a child of any age.

Natural disaster preparedness

Natural disasters can strike at any time and it is important to be prepared at a moment’s notice to have critical items to keep you and your family safe. FEMA recommends important items you will need in case of an emergency situation. Keep these items in a backpack or bag so you can just pick it up and go! The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) assists eligible low-income households with their heating and cooling energy costs, bill payment assistance, energy crisis assistance, weatherization and energy-related home repairs.

The following organizations are providing food assistance to those with a need:

National

Local

Call the HCA Healthcare Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at 877-950-5075 for more information about food assistance and other helpful resources within your local community.

Community resources

American Red Cross – help with electric and heating bills, health and safety classes, disaster assistance and aid to military families
Catholic Charities – no matter your background or religion, this organization may be able to provide financial help, cash assistance or other resources in crisis. They also assist with medical bill assistance.
National Assistance League – local centers focus on meeting the needs for that community including a common program to assist with school clothes, books and items for students
Operation Homefront – emergency financial assistance, grants, counseling and other aid for military personnel
Operation Round Up – offered by utility and gas companies in many states, providing energy assistance funds and grants to families in need of help
Salvation Army Family Emergency Assistance – The Salvation Army can be contacted for help with heating, utility and electric bills as well as clothing, food and counseling
Urban League – provides services, counseling, job programs and indirect financial assistance to low income and working poor focusing on medical needs, employment and education
YMCA – offers services for entire family, with a focus on children, the unemployed and job seekers. Assistance in some areas includes properly feeding children including over the summer and holidays.
YWCA – resources are focused on helping women, their children, single parents and those struggling with services such as affordable day care, job training, transitional housing and more
