Grant Leader Spotlight: Courtney Hunter

The Hope Fund has critical business partners throughout our company, who help fundraise, provide information to employees and assist employees through the application process.  Courtney Hunter, Senior HR Business Partner at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center provides amazing support to the employees of North Austin as the facility Grant Leader.  “The ability to connect with employees and develop relationships that last forever is what I enjoy most in my role. During the tough and vulnerable times that go along with requesting help through the Hope Fund, I really enjoy assisting in the application process” says Courtney.

Grant Leaders are responsible for receiving applications, assisting employees with supporting documentation, and providing support and resources.  “The sound of relief that is heard through the phone when giving the news that their request has been approved brings me and the employee great joy. I can literally feel and hear the stress eliminated from their voices in those moments.  Each time that happens, I think wow, the Hope Fund is life changing!”  When sharing about the Hope Fund with employees Courtney says, “contributing to the Hope Fund is a selfless act that provides a major impact in families across HCA.  Unforeseen events can happen to anyone, at any time and regardless of the donation amount, every dollar counts”.

When Courtney is away from work, she can be found spending time with family, enjoying Cajun and Creole cooking or dreaming of a trip back to Paris, France.  Courtney’s passion for serving was influenced by her mother, who is a very giving person, volunteering a lot of her time over the years, and taught Courtney the importance of giving back.
